Hi I’m Lillian, The Off Seasoner. I’m glad you found your way here. Check out the home page to see my recent posts. I travel during the off season because I like to go on adventures on a budget. I write about many different things, but some of my most popular posts can be found under the category Solo female travel. These posts deal with my experiences traveling alone or with other women.

You may notice that I also spend my time looking to answer some of life’s biggest questions. Sometimes that question is What should I be eating in this new city? And sometimes it’s What am I even doing here? But usually it’s something in-between. I search for these answers by trying new things and visiting new places. So that is what I tend to write about.

Growing up in California, I have lived up and down the West Coast for most of my life, from Seattle to San Diego. I started writing while living in Mexico City and traveling within Mexico. Since then I have traveled to six continents, and hope to add Antarctica to the list soon.

I mostly write about my insights while traveling. In addition to considerations specific to solo female travel, I try to throw in a list of travel tips or an actual travel guide every now and then. You can find posts by location (Wandering around) or by topic (Looking for answers).

In between trips, I have worked in science and technology for my entire career. I facilitate career growth workshops for women and other underrepresented groups working in STEM fields.

I currently live in Miami, Florida with my husband and a few hardy houseplants. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope we both find the answers we are looking for.
